Online shop for a Viennese butcher’s shop

Fleischerei Wien: From Shop Counter to Online Shop

In brief

For a butcher’s shop at the Brunnenmarkt in Vienna, we built an online shop: with a clear product catalogue, categories, basket and checkout. Customers can order online or by phone via the hotline. The shop is designed so that freshness and quality are visible immediately.

Starting point

A shop sells to people who walk past. Anyone who wants to order online or find out in advance usually finds only a phone book listing without a shop of their own. At the same time, food needs explaining: what is available, in what quantities, how is it packed and delivered?

The shop was to show the range in an understandable way, make ordering easy and not lose the personal character of the butcher’s shop.

2

Solution

  • A clear product catalogue with categories and product pages that show choice, quantity and price without guesswork.
  • A simple ordering process: basket and checkout in a few steps, on mobile too.
  • Ordering by hotline as a second route for customers who prefer to call.
  • Newsletter sign-up, to inform regular customers about offers.
  • Structured product data, so that products and provider are easy for search engines to read.
3

Result

The butcher’s shop has an additional sales channel through which customers can view the range and order. The shop runs on a widely used, low-maintenance platform on which the team maintains products and prices itself.

As with all references, we state revenue or order figures only with the client’s approval.

What you can take from this

  • Food shops need clear product pages (quantity, price, delivery) more than lots of design.
  • A second ordering route by phone can make the difference for traditional customers.
  • Legal obligations for online shops (price information, right of withdrawal, information requirements for food) belong in the planning from the start.
