Social Media Check: How Well Set Up Are Your Channels?

Answer ten short questions on profile, rhythm, videos and community. You receive a score and concrete tips for the weak spots.

In brief

The Social Media Check uses ten questions to assess the most important levers of your channels: profile, posting rhythm, share of video, opening, content mix, community, call to action, measurement, advertising and design. You receive a score from 0 to 100 and tips for all points with room for improvement. The test is free and takes about two minutes.

1How informative is your channel profile (bio, profile picture, contact)?

The profile is the business card that visitors look at after every post.

2How regularly do you publish posts?

Platforms and followers reward reliability; long gaps cost reach and trust.

3What share of your content is videos and reels?

Short videos are often suggested by the platforms even to people who do not yet follow you.

4How compelling is the opening of your videos in the first few seconds?

The first few seconds decide whether someone keeps watching or swipes on.

5How varied is your content mix?

If you only show ads, people scroll past; if you only entertain, you sell nothing.

6How do you deal with comments and messages?

Replying builds trust; unanswered questions look like disinterest.

7Do your posts include a clear call to action and a way to make an enquiry?

Without a next step, interest fizzles out, even if the post goes down well.

8Do you regularly measure and discuss what works?

Only those who know the numbers can repeat what is successful and replace what is weak.

9Do you use paid ads (e.g. Meta Ads) in a targeted way?

Paid reach extends good posts and reaches people you would not reach organically.

10How consistent is your presence in design and tone of voice?

A recognisable presence makes your posts instantly identifiable in the feed.

What does the Social Media Check assess?

The check covers ten areas that make the biggest difference in practice: profile, rhythm, share of video, video openings, content mix, community, call to action, measurement, advertising and design.

Each question scores 0, 1 or 2 points, and the total is scaled up to 100. The result is a self-assessment and a first orientation, not an analysis of your actual accounts. It says nothing about follower numbers or revenue.

Which factors achieve the most on social media?

In our experience, it is usually a few things working together:

  • Reliability: a fixed rhythm beats short bursts of activity.
  • Short videos: reels and similar formats often reach the most new people. More in the article Instagram Reels strategy.
  • A strong opening: the first few seconds decide reach.
  • Real faces and places: they come across as more credible than stock material.
  • A clear route to an enquiry: link, phone or reservation.

There are no guarantees for reach or followers, because they depend on offering, industry and competition. But anyone who observes these basics improves their chances significantly.

What happens after the check?

Work through the tips for the weakest points one by one. Often two or three changes are enough, for example a fixed rhythm, a better profile and one reel per week.
