What does visibility on Google and in AI answers mean?
Customers today no longer search only with keywords. They ask Google in whole sentences, look at Google Maps or have ChatGPT and Gemini recommend providers. Businesses that are clearly described, unambiguously findable and credibly backed up are visible.
The classic part is called SEO (search engine optimisation), the new one GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), that is, preparing content for AI answers. The two overlap heavily: clear answers, clean data, good reviews and mentions on trustworthy sites. An overview is provided by the article GEO: Generative Engine Optimization.
What does the Google & AI Check examine, and what does it not?
The check asks about ten building blocks: Google Business Profile, consistent business details (NAP), reviews, answer pages and FAQ, service pages, structured data, loading time on mobile, directory listings, up-to-date content and monitoring of AI visibility.
The result is based on your self-assessment. It checks neither your actual rankings nor whether AI assistants actually mention you, because these answers change constantly. Nobody can guarantee particular rankings or mentions. The manual analysis by digtatur therefore goes one step further and looks specifically at your site and your profile.
What happens after the check?
Work through the tips for the weakest points one by one. The biggest progress usually comes from a complete Google profile, more reviews and separate pages with clear answers for each service.
